After an All-American career at USC, Ronnie Lott was drafted 8th overall in the first round by the San Francisco 49ers. During his 10 years with the Niners, Lott helped lead the team to 8 division titles and 4 Super Bowl victories.
Lott was one of just 5 players on the Niner roster for all four of their championships. Lott earned a well-deserved reputation as a hard-hitting safety and one of the best open-field tacklers ever.
His uncanny ability to read offenses helped also earn him respect as a feared pass defender. He went on to lead the NFL in INT twice during his career and owns the NFL record for most post-season career INTs. Lott's leadership was one of the keys to the success of the 49ers in their championship years and was acknowledged by fans as he was a 10-time Pro Bowler.
